Pseudotsuga menziesii |
Preserving Douglas-fir forests is a particular interest of mine, and I am working on an initiative to create a Douglas-Fir National Monument, to be located in the Santiam River watershed of the western Oregon Cascades. For more information please go to the Douglas-Fir National Monument page, or you can view or download the DFNM Case Statement in pdf format. It includes a map that outlines the proposed monument. Additional photos of Douglas-fir trees and forests can be found on the Pseudotsuga menziesii page in the Trees and Forests section. |
